About LaToya

LaToya McLellan earned her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Coker University and a Masters of Arts in Counseling with an Emphasis on Mental Health from Webster University. She possesses over 20 years of experience in working in Human/Social Services.  LaToya also has experience working with teenage girls in the residential setting. LaToya has had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations with the purpose of increasing their awareness about their ability to change their lives by changing their minds.

 

LaToya utilizes an eclectic style of therapy that includes a combination of various techniques and skills depending on the individual's personal situation and needs. LaToya has provided individual and family counseling services for children, adolescents and adults. LaToya’s areas of interest include anxiety, anger, depression, behavioral issues, parenting issues, coping skills, family conflict, life transitions, oppositional defiance, peer relationships, school issues, self-esteem, and stress management.

 

“I believe that we are all shaped by our life experiences, but our negative life experiences shouldn’t determine who or what we ultimately become”. My desire is to provide support for individuals and families as I facilitate change that can allow them to live emotionally healthy and productive lives.
